Jason Momoa’s ‘Aquaman’ (gasp) might be better than we think

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The first reactions to Warner Bros./DC’s next big shot at (finally) captivating superhero movie fans is in. And they’re better than you might think.

“Aquaman,” starring Jason Momoa, has screened for test audiences and the secondhand reactions on Twitter show promise, with many comparing it to Phase 1 of the Marvel Studios films.

Of course, the bar for “Aquaman” was set pretty low given reactions to the terrible “Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice” and so-so “Justice League.” No one was expecting “Wonder Woman,” but “Aquaman” might just give Warner Bros. another winner.

It’s important to point out that this was just a test screening, which means the James Wan directed film could change a bit. Still, “Aquaman’s” success is essential to future standalone Warner/DC films including ones for The Flash and Cyborg.
