Weber jail deputy strikes plea deal in sex-with-inmate case
OGDEN, Utah (AP) — A Weber County Jail deputy is pleading no contest to one count of sexual misconduct with a person in custody.
The Standard-Examiner reports 41-year-old Jeremy C. Miller entered the plea in a Tuesday agreement with prosecutors. They dropped four other counts of custodial sexual relations in exchange.
Prosecutors had said one woman reported having sex with Miller more than 10 times and another reported one encounter with him. Miller was in charge of supervising female inmates at the Kiesel Correctional Facility from August to November 2018.
The plea agreement states Miller could have his felony conviction reduced to a misdemeanor after completing counseling. He is set to be sentenced Sept. 3.
Miller was placed on paid administrative leave after the allegations surfaced.
His attorney did not immediately return a message seeking comment.
