Steelers’ Foster thanks supporters on social media
Two days after injuring his right knee in the first padded practice of training camp, Steelers guard Ramon Foster thanked his supporters on his verified Twitter account.
Wrote Foster on Monday afternoon: “Thank you all for the well wishes and prayers. Injuries happen in this sport of football. Rather this happen now than in the playoffs. So I found my silver lining lol. Let’s continue to roll!”
Coach Mike Tomlin said Monday that the hyperextension and bone bruise on Foster’s right knee is expected to keep him out for four weeks, and team president Art Rooney II said he is hopeful the veteran guard can return before the start of the regular season in September.
Foster is entering his 10th season with the Steelers and is in the final year of his contract. Until Foster returns, B.J. Finney will take his spot in the starting lineup.
