June 10, 2015

ADAMS, Mass. (AP) — An 8-year-old boy has been struck and killed by a vehicle as he crossed a street near his Adams home.

The Berkshire district attorney’s office says Noah Brown and a friend were crossing the street at about 3 p.m. Tuesday when Noah was struck. The other boy was not injured.

Noah was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The death remains under investigation and the name of the driver was not released because there are no charges.

The Berkshire Eagle reports that Noah was a third-grader at C.T. Plunkett Elementary School.

Superintendent Kristen Gordon called him a “sweet, smiley, energetic, full-of-life kind of kid.”

Extra grief counselors are being brought to the school on Wednesday.
