Cuyahoga Falls Mayor Don Walters, Judge Elinore Marsh Stormer to host event for senior citizens

CUYAHOGA FALLS, Ohio — Senior citizens are invited to an informational event hosted by Cuyahoga Falls Mayor Don Walters and Summit County Probate Judge Elinore Marsh Stormer  on Tuesday, Nov. 20 from noon to 1:30 p.m.

The event will be in the Hopewell Room of the natatorium at 2345 4th St. in Cuyahoga Falls.

The meeting is expected to cover a variety of topics for seniors, including safety and communication during the holiday season.

Attendees also will learn about programs designed by Cuyahoga Falls and Summit County Probate Court for adults in their age group.

Walters will introduce these programs, which include Senior Watch, social activities offered through the Parks and Recreation Department at Quirk Cultural Center, Healthway’s SilverSneakers Program and Envelope of Life.

“We are pleased to offer unmatched programs to our older adults in our community, but our programs are only as strong as the number of people who know about them,” Walters said in a news release. “I am proud to partner with Judge Stormer to talk to our residents about vital services that are offered to them through our respective offices.”

Stormer will share information that provides directives for clear communication on medical treatment and care for senior citizens. She also will discuss guardianship and related services offered by the Summit County Probate Court.

“We want to empower everyone to create and communicate their desire for their future in the way that best [serves] their needs and that of their family,” Stormer said in a news release.

The informational session is free, but reservations are encouraged.

Contact the Department of Neighborhood Excellence, Communications and Community Outreach at 330-971-8208 or NECCO@cityofcf.com to secure a spot.
