Juvenile facing robbery charge in skateboard theft
Columbus Police officers arrested a juvenile male suspect Thursday evening in connection with the robbery of a skateboard from a male victim in the 1400 block of Third Avenue.
According to information released by the police, the department received a 911 call at 7:31 p.m. reporting the robbery of the skateboard valued at $160 with a description of the suspect as s 6-foot tall white male wearing a blue shirt and blue shorts with short blonde hair, according to Investigator Jaymee Levander.
The investigator said the victim reported the suspect was driving a 2003 Oldsmobile Alero.
Officers made contact with the teen suspect and took him into custody for the offenses of robbery, use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony and minor in possession.
A subsequent search warrant of the suspect’s vehicle revealed the weapon used in the robbery and the stolen skateboard, police reported.
The juvenile suspect is not being identified The Telegram because of his age.
