Neb. Girl Mauled to Death by Rottweiler
SARONVILLE, Neb. (AP) _ A 3-year-old girl was mauled to death by a Rottweiler at her aunt and uncle’s home.
Samantha Grace Bauld was found bleeding on the ground Saturday beside two Rottweilers, including the 1-year-old dog believed to have attacked her, the child’s mother said. She died Sunday at a hospital.
``She loved the dog that did it to her,″ said her mother, Chara Mohr. She said the dog left her with cuts ``pretty much from head to toe.″
Samantha had such a good relationship with the dogs that she often would ``ride around on them like a horse,″ her mother said.
``The dogs never showed any signs of aggression,″ Mohr said. ``They had never even knocked her down when they were playing with her.″
The aunt and uncle, Marc and Monica Russell, are the owners of the dogs. The Russells did not immediately return a telephone message Monday.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office referred questions to Deputy Clay County Attorney Jennifer Fleischer, who did not immediately return messages Monday.
