Monty Tech Presents ‘Young Frankenstein’

FITCHBURG -- The Monty Tech Drama Club proudly presents “Young Frankenstein,,” a monstrously funny musical comedy.

Under the direction of Bethany Johnson, with musical direction by Debbie Moylan, featuring a cast of talented student actors, including TAMY award-winning John Sweeney, who portrays Fredrick, and the incredibly talented Cameron DeVillers as Frau Blucher, the show will take the audience on a journey they won’t soon forget.

The production will play the Stratos G. Dukasis Performing Arts Center at Monty Tech at 7 p.m. on April 5-6 and at 2 p.m. on April 7.

Tickets are $10 and will be sold at the door.

Veterans Patriots Day 5K slated

FITCHBURG -- The Fifth Veterans Council Patriots Day 5K race will take place on Saturday, April 13.

The race will begin at River Styx Brewing on Boulder Drive. The route will go down Main and Lunenburg streets and loop around Fitchburg State University’s campus. Altogether the course is 3.1 miles.

Walkers will begin at 11 a.m. and runners will start at 11:30 a.m. It’s a family-friendly event and leashed dogs are welcome.

After the race, music, food, raffles, and a free beer will be available.

The race will raise money for the Friends of Fitchburg emergency relief fund and is the Veteran’ Council’s main fundraiser.

Lunenburg rabies clinic set Saturday

LUNENBURG -- A rabies clinic will be held from 10 a.m.-noon, on Saturday, April 6 at First Choice Veterinary Care at 324 Electric Ave.

Rabies vaccinations are $20 without an exam and other vaccinations will be available with a wellness exam of $25 (cash or credit card only).

Lunenburg dog license will also be available (cash or check only).
