NEW YORK(AP) _ Stock prices are higher in Tuesday's early Wall Street trading. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is up 97 points. On the New York Stock Exchange, advancers hold a 3-2 advantage over decliners.

The Nasdaq Composite Index has gained 28 points and the Standard & Poor's 500 Stock Index is up nine points.

Analysts say Wall Street is standing by for the unofficial start of the first-quarter corporate earnings season later today.

Motorola is due to release its profit statement after the closing bell, and the high-tech bellwether is expected to post a loss for the period.

Still, the market appears to have some upward momentum after modest gains yesterday.

There is an earnings warning for investors to consider. Aetna says its quarterly results will be well below analysts' current estimates.
