William W. Winterstein

William W. Winterstein, 90 years of age, of Beatrice passed away at Beatrice Health and Rehab on Tuesday morning, November 13, 2018. He was born on March 9, 1928 at Reed City, Mich. to William and Eleanor (Guetschow) Winterstein. He graduated from Saginaw High School in Saginaw, Mich. in 1945, and received his BA degree from Concordia Teachers College in River Forrest, Ill. in 1961. He was a Lutheran school teacher for 40 years at various locations, and served as principle, organist and choir director. William and Lucille Bieberich were married on July 22, 1951. They moved to Beatrice from Hanover, Kan. in 1990. William was a member of the First Trinity Lutheran Church, R. Beatrice. He enjoyed playing the piano and organ and directing church choirs.

Survivors include his wife Lucille; children Bonnie Yoder and husband Brady of Omaha, and Beth Lohse and husband Jim of Beatrice; 7 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren; and sisters Evelyn Ryder and Eunice Peterson and husband Dale, all of Saginaw, Mich. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Herbert Winterstein.

Funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, November 16, 2018 at the First Trinity Lutheran Church, R. Beatrice with Reverend Timothy Wagner officiating. Interment will be at the Evergreen Home Cemetery preceding the funeral. The body will lie in state Thursday from 10-8:00 at the Griffiths-Hovendick Chapel in Beatrice with the family greeting friends from 6-7:30 p.m., and on Friday from 8:30-10:00 a.m., and not at the church.
