December 6, 2018

The 4-H Closet Event, held at the Eleanor Fire Station, is open to the public Thursday evening, and all of the items are free.

ELEANOR — Looking to make room? Do you have an overflowing attic or garage? Perhaps you and your neighbors are looking to upgrade a wardrobe for the winter months.

The 4-H Closet Event is ready to help by taking used items and making them into another person’s treasure, or at least ensuring items find homes where they can be put to use.

This one-day-only event takes place on Thursday, Dec. 6, at the Eleanor Fire Station, 600 Roosevelt Blvd., from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Items available for swapping or giving away include clothing, shoes, belts, toys, movies, books, holiday objects and livestock show items.

This free event is open to the public, all visitors may take any donated items from the 4-H Closet Event.

“You will feel good about your items going to someone who can use them and you might find new to you items that you won’t have to buy,” 4-H organizers said in a news release.

Participants do not have to bring items in order to participate in picking items from the closet. For more information, text 304-549-2630.
