Jet ski races return to Nautical for 1st time in 20 years
Jet ski races will be back at the Nautical Beachfront Resort for the first time in 20 years when the JetJam Racing Tour opens its season today on Lake Havasu.
The IJSBA World Finals traditionally were held at the hotel on the south side of the Island before moving to Crazy Horse Campgrounds for the last two decades. This weekend’s closed course races are the first competition to return to the cove since according to racing enthusiast Nedra Atwood.
The event, which is free to the public, will run over two days and feature multiple classes and age groups with 10 former world champions on the roster and competitors ranging in ages from 9 to 69.
This is the first of a handful of JetJam races that will be held on the lake over the next few weeks.
Another closed course race will be held from April 12-14 at the Nautical and a dual slalom special event is scheduled to be held off the coast of Rotary Beach on May 4.
The IJSBA World Finals will be held on the lake from October 5-13.
