LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) _ Chorwon, with Calvin Borel aboard, closed from last on the turn and wore down Buff in the final strides to capture the $112,600 Louisville Handicap by a nose today at Churchill Downs.

Chorwon, the 6-year-old gelded son of Cozzene, has won the race three years in a row.

Chorwon covered the 1 3/8 miles in 2:14 and paid $4.40, $2.80 and $2.40 as the 6-5 favorite. Buff, ridden by Francisco Torres, took the lead at the top of the stretch before giving way and paid $4.60 and $4. Keats and Yeats, a 20-1 outsider with Brian Peck aboard, finished another 1 1/4 lengths back in third and paid $5.

Chorwon won for the second time in six starts this year and increased his career earnings to $794,213.
