More drug arrests for Greenwich man
GREENWICH — A Greenwich man already facing criminal charges of drug possession and assault was hit with additional drug charges on Wednesday.
Alexander Edell, 36, of Valley Road, Cos Cob, was being sought by probation authorities, according to the arrest report. When he was taken into custody, he was found to be in possession of crack cocaine and crystal meth, the report stated. He also had smoking pipes, according to police.
Edell was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Bail was set at $100,000.
Edell is also facing charges in connection with an incident at the Hyatt Regency hotel in Old Greenwich in late July. He was accused of breaking down a door and assaulting a woman there. Both he and the woman were charged with drug possession, for alleged possesion of Xanax and Ketamine.
In 2010, he abducted a female student at Norwalk Community College, later pleading guilty to second-degree kidnapping.
