Eagles squads building confidence as district comes to a close

The Lady Eagles (14-6, 6-1) beat host Legacy Prep Magnolia 42-37 in TAPPS 3A District 6 play under head coach Steve Krantz, Jan. 22, and beat Grace Christian Academy 57-22 in district play, Jan. 18.

The girls team hosts Brazos in district play, Jan. 29, and visits Legacy Beaumont in district play, Feb. 1. After that they face Clear Lake Grace Christian and close the regular season against Magnolia Legacy Prep.

Rosehill Christian (16-9, 5-1) beat host Legacy Prep Magnolia 69-58 in district play, Jan. 22, and lost to visiting Providence Classical 55-54 in district play, Jan. 25.

The boys team hosts Brazos in district play, Jan. 29, and visits Legacy Beaumont in district play, Feb. 1. After that they also face Clear Lake Grace Christian and close the regular season against Magnolia Legacy Prep.

Tomball Memorial

The Lady Wildcats (18-14, 7-6) entered a bye, Jan. 22, and lost to visiting Langham Creek 68-35 in District 14-6A play, Jan. 25.

Cy Ranch is first in the 14-6A standings followed by Langham Creek, Cy Springs, Tomball Memorial and Cy Lakes.

The girls team visits Bridgeland in district play, Jan. 29, and hosts Cy Lakes in district play, Feb. 1.

The Wildcats (8-18, 0-11) entered a bye, Jan. 22, and lost to host Langham Creek 97-81 in district play, Jan. 25.

Cy Ranch is first in the 14-6A standings followed by Cy Springs, Langham Creek and Bryan.

The boys team hosts Bridgeland in district play, Jan. 29, and visits Cy Lakes in district play, Feb. 1.

In soccer, the boys team lost to Cy Woods 3-0 in district play, Jan. 18, and lost to Bryan 3-0 in district play, Jan. 22. The girls team lost to Cy Woods 4-2 in district play, Jan. 18, and beat Bryan 5-1 in district play, Jan. 22.

Tomball

The Lady Cougars (14-8, 8-5) lost to visiting Kingwood Park 60-50 in District 20-5A play, Jan 22, and entered a bye, Jan. 25.

Huntsville is first in the 20-5A standings followed by Kingwood Park. Willis, Tomball, Montgomery and New Caney are battling it out for other two playoff spots.

The girls team visits New Caney in district play, Jan 29, and hosts Porter in district play, Feb. 1.

The Cougars (14-13, 6-5) beat Kingwood Park 60-56 in double overtime in district play, Jan 22, and entered a bye, Jan. 25.

The top four in the boys district consists of Huntsville, Lake Creek, Willis and Montgomery. Tomball and Kingwood Park are next.

The boys team hosts New Caney in district play, Jan 29, and visits Porter in district play, Feb. 1.

In soccer in district play, the boys team tied Huntsville 2-2, Jan. 15, beat Montgomery 4-1, Jan. 18, lost to Caney Creek 1-0, Jan. 22, and beat Lake Creek 10-0, Jan. 25. The girls team, beat Huntsville 3-0, Jan. 15, tie Montgomery 1-1, Jan. 18, beat Caney Creek 3-0, Jan. 22, and beat Lake Creek 8-0, Jan. 25.

Concordia Lutheran

Concordia Lutheran (30-1, 7-0) beat visiting Houston Christian 82-74 in non-district play, Jan. 22 and beat visiting host St. Pius X 70-60 in TAPPS 6A District 4 play, Jan. 25.

Pierce Hellums finished with 30 points against Houston Christian, Broc Wisenbaker had 14 points and Evan Palmquist added 13 points. Montavious Murphy had 26 points and 10 rebounds against St. Pius.

The boys team visits Kelly Catholic in district play, Jan. 29, and hosts Awty International in district play, Feb. 1.

The Lady Crusaders (4-2) lost to host Kinkaid 48-24 in district play, Jan. 22.

The girls team hosts St. Agnus in district play, Jan. 29, and visits The Village in district play, Feb. 1.

In soccer, the boys team beat John Cooper 1-0 in district play, Jan. 23, and lost to St. Thomas 4-1 in district play, Jan. 25. The girls team beat St. John XXIII 7-0 in district play, Jan. 22.
