Harvard 35, Lehigh 30

BETHLEHEM, Pa. (AP) _ Harvard spotted Lehigh to a 35-6 lead, then withstood a 24-point fourth quarter by the Engineers to hold on for a 35-30 win Saturday.

Down 35-6 at the end of three quarters, Lehigh scored four straight touchdowns in less than 10 minutes, three on passes from Phil Stambaugh. The quarterback hit Brett Snyder to open the quarter, then connected twice with Deron Braswell and once with Kody Fedorcha.

After Braswell’s second touchdown with 2:38 remaining, Harvard recovered Lehigh’s on-side kick. The Engineers (1-1) regained the ball with 12 seconds remaining.

For Harvard (1-0), quarterback Rich Linden threw for 193 yards and three touchdowns on 14-of-24 passing. Tailback Chris Menick ran for 121 yards and a touchdown on 15 carries.

Lehigh tailback Brian Baker ran for 86 yards, including a 68 yarder for a touchdown, while Braswell gained 105 yards on 7 receptions.
