VCU to conduct test of emergency communications system
RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond is set to conduct a full test of its emergency communications and alert systems.
The university says the test at noon Wednesday will include the use of sirens along with text messages, mass email and other messaging.
VCU says immediately following the conclusion of the full system test, students, faculty and staff on the Monroe Park Campus will hear a second siren activation.
At the end of the second siren, VCU Police will send out a text message to let the community know that all testing has concluded.
