Man gets federal prison time for luring Beatrice teen
A man who convinced a 14-year-old Beatrice girl to run away from home and have a sexual relationship with him in North Dakota has been sentenced to federal prison.
In addition to his seven-year sentence, Nicollas Troy Johnson, 25, will be required to register as a sex offender and serve 60 months on supervised release, under the order by U.S. District Judge John Gerrard.
The girl ran away July 10, 2017. Beatrice police learned that she’d been messaging someone known as “Nico Johnson” via FaceTime and had left with an adult man in a dark-blue SUV. Investigators determined “Nico” was Johnson, a resident of Harwood, North Dakota, according to a news release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Nebraska.
When law enforcement contacted Johnson at his North Dakota home, he acknowledged befriending the girl but denied she had been at his residence. She was then found at the Harwood Super 8 and acknowledged that Johnson had brought her there.
Johnson was arrested and admitted to having a relationship with her.
