ST. LOUIS (AP) _ The St. Louis Blues, plagued by injuries to their defense, have acquired Jeff Finley and Geoff Smith from the New York Rangers in return for future considerations.
Finley, 31, played Saturday night in St. Louis against the Edmonton Oilers.
Smith, 29, will join the Worcester Ice Cats of the AHL, a Blues spokesman said Saturday. He played four games with the Rangers this season and had no points and two penalty minutes. He was 1-4-5 with 10 penalty minutes in nine games with the Hartford Wolf Pack of the AHL this season.
