South Carolina man charged in brother’s death
FREDERICKSBURG, Va. (AP) — Authorities in Virginia say a South Carolina man has been charged with second-degree murder in the death of his brother.
The Free-Lance Star reports 33-year-old Christopher Andrew Veronee was found shot to death in a Virginia home Tuesday and his brother, 21-year-old William Jackson Veronee, was charged.
Stafford Sheriff’s spokeswoman Amanda Vicinanzo says deputies went to an address in response to a call from a police department. Police talked to William after staff at a cold weather shelter had called about a suspicious person.
Authorities say he told officers that he had shot his brother during a dispute. Vicinanzo says the suspect took off in his brother’s vehicle following the shooting.
William was also charged with using a firearm in the commission of a felony. It’s unclear if William has a lawyer.
