Courtright Selling Scranton Karate Studio

June 6, 2019

Scranton Mayor Bill Courtright is selling his karate studio.

He’s asking $54,900 for the Summit Karate Club at 110 S. Main Ave., according to a listing on the website of Classic Properties Inc., the sales agent.

The building comes with a three-bedroom, second-floor apartment.

Courtright, who long taught police self-defense classes at Lackawanna College, kept teaching karate even after he was elected mayor in 2013.

Efforts to reach Courtright were not immediately successful.

Courtright, 61, faces an FBI investigation of his administration. FBI agents raided City Hall and the mayor’s home Jan. 9. From his home, they removed an iPhone and a laptop, according to part of a search warrant receipt obtained by The Times-Tribune.
