Applebee’s in Leominster Helps with Regional Effort

January 3, 2019

Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill & Bar locations throughout New England and New York recently presented a check for $90,491.21 to the Special Olympics, the world’s largest sports organization for people with intellectual disabilities.

The money was raised as part of a monthlong event where various locations throughout the area hosted a number of charitable initiatives, including Tip-A-Cop fundraisers, with local law enforcement serving as “celebrity waiters”; Dining to Donate; the sale of in-store pin-up cards; and hosting Flapjack Fundraisers Touch-A-Truck events and more.

The money will help Special Olympics, a worldwide charitable organization that aims to support young athletes throughout a variety of programming, and continue its mission of fostering leadership and inclusiveness for those with intellectual disabilities throughout the athletic community.

Local Applebee’s restaurants that were involved in the fundraiser include the one in Leominster.
