Tompkins excels at Region III Preview
Tompkins cross country made school history last year by sending its boys and girls varsity teams to the UIL state meet. The Falcons fared well, with the boys placing fourth and the girls 11th with five freshmen on the course.
The first three meets of the 2018 season have brought further success, highlighted by a championship and a runner-up finish in the Elite division Sept. 8 at the Region III Preview in Huntsville.
Tompkins won the boys team championship, scoring 34 points to lead a field of 12 teams. The Falcons held off Region II power The Woodlands by five points.

It was the second consecutive championship for the Tompkins boys, including a victory at the Seven Lakes Showcase. The Falcons opened their season with a runner-up finish in the competitive A division at Friday Night Lights in The Woodlands.
