Dirk Beveridge Named Correspondent in Roanoke
ROANOKE, Va. (AP) _ Dirk Beveridge, a newsman in the Phoenix, Ariz., bureau of The Associated Press, has been named AP correspondent in Roanoke.
Richmond Chief of Bureau Dennis Montgomery announced the appointment Tuesday. Beveridge, 26, succeeds Dorothy Gast, who recently was promoted to correspondent in charge of AP’s Cleveland bureau.
Beveridge, a native of Tulsa, Okla., and a graduate of the University of Oklahoma, joined the AP in Phoenix in 1985. He previously worked for the Columbia (Mo.) Daily Tribune.
