Taste of Memorial City Food & Wine Festival scheduled for Saturday, May 4

A new foodie event is scheduled for west Houston and features dozens of presenters from across the region.

The inaugural Taste of Memorial City Food & Wine Festival is scheduled for 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, May 4, at The Lawn located next to Hotel ZaZa Memorial City.

According to organizers, the event will “celebrate Memorial City’s and West Houston’s culinary scene.”

“Memorial City has become the epicenter for culinary talent in west Houston, attracting some of the city’s finest restaurants and chefs,” said Jason Johnson, president of MetroNational, the company that owns and manages Memorial City. “We invite all Houstonians who love good food and wine to join us to sample the fare, enjoy The Lawn and support Memorial Assistance Ministries.”

Attendees will be able to sample food, wine, beer and cocktails from more than 25 restaurants, breweries and wineries from the area.

A VIP experience is available for attendees. VIPs will get early admission to the festival at 3 p.m. with access to the VIP lounge, and premium wine and beer selections.

VIP guests will also receive an exclusive chef demonstration from Rick Moonen, Perry’s Steakhouse & Grille master development chef, who “will be flying into Houston just for the event.” Moonen is a James Beard Best Chef: West winner.

General admission tickets are $35 and VIP tickets are $60. They can be purchased at Taste of Memorial City. A portion of all event ticket proceeds will benefit Memorial Assistance Ministries (MAM).
