GLORIA AND EMILIO ESTEFAN’S STUDIO HIT BY TRUCK
MIAMI (AP) _ A dump truck smashed into a Miami recording studio owned by Gloria and Emilio Estefan yesterday morning, but it appears the Estefans were not there at the time. The truck hit an SUV before crashing into the Crescent Moon Studios. Photos show a couple of trees knocked down and a chunk taken out of a pillar. It’s unclear what internal damage was done. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue tweeted that two people were taken to a hospital and two others were treated on the scene. The Estefans were in London for the finale of “Britain’s Got Talent” and the opening of their “On Your Feet” musical there.
RZA OF WU-TANG CLAN EXERCISES IN FRONT OF AN AUDIENCE
PARK CITY, Utah (AP) _ RZA (RIH’-zah) of Wu-Tang Clan has his best workouts when he’s on stage. RZA says performing is the best cardio and it keeps him young. It also makes him proud. He says there’s nothing more rewarding than looking out at an audience made up of people of all colors under the banner of music. Wu-Tang Clan are the subject of a four-part documentary called “Wu-Tang Clan: Of Mics and Men,” currently running on Showtime. RZA says it’s so honest, it’s like director Sacha Jenkins turned his camera on a psychiatrist’s couch.

ELTON JOHN GIVES PEEK INTO HIS DIARY TO TARON EGERTON
LONDON (AP) _ Elton John let the actor who plays him in the movie “Rocketman” a rare glimpse into his personal diary. John writes in The Guardian newspaper he had Taron Egerton over to his house for curry and the chance to read his diary from his early days, which John calls “inadvertently hilarious.” John says he wrote everything very matter of fact, and he gives this as an example: “Woke up, watched Grandstand. Wrote Candle in the Wind. Went to London, bought Rolls-Royce. Ringo Starr came for dinner.” John says he thinks it was his way of trying to normalize what was happening to him. “Rocketman” opens on Friday.
BRITNEY SPEARS - RESTRAINING ORDER HEARING
LOS ANGELES (AP) — A Los Angeles judge today will consider whether to extend a temporary restraining order that keeps a former associate of Britney Spears away from the singer and her family. Sam Lutfi is an ex-Spears confidante who has said he once was her manager. He was ordered on May 8 to stay at least 200 yards from the pop star, her parents and her two sons. He was also told to refrain from contacting or disparaging them.
PATTI SMITH WRITES ABOUT HER YEAR OF WANDERING
NEW YORK (AP) _ Patti Smith will put out another memoir. It’s called “Year of the Monkey” and it follows a transformative year for her of solitary wandering. Smith writes of her time in California, through the Arizona desert, to a Kentucky farm to help a friend in crisis, to a hospital room of a valued mentor. She illustrates her story with her signature Polaroids. It comes out Sept. 24. Smith’s other books include “Just Kids,” “Woolgathering,” “The Coral Sea,” “Devotion (Why I Write)” and “Auguries of Innocence.”
