HOUSE DISTRICT 107: HARDING AHEAD

November 7, 2018

BROOKFIELD — Early numbers suggested Republican incumbent Steve Harding defeated Democratic challenger Daniel Pearson in the race for the state House District 107 seat Tuesday night.

Harding said he was up by 2,000 votes with results in from Brookfield and Bethel, but was still waiting for numbers from Danbury as of The News-Times deadline.

Harding, who has held the seat since winning a special election in 2015, stressed his support for local schools and the environment throughout the campaign.

Pearson also ran on advocating for education and strengthening environmental laws.

The candidates disagreed on tolls. Harding had opposed them, while Pearson supported them.

The district covers Brookfield, Bethel and Danbury. Both live in Brookfield.

Pearson could not be immediately reached for comment.
