Lester Ray Parrish, 91, of Kankakee, passed away Saturday (Nov. 11, 2018) at Miller Healthcare Center in Kankakee.
He was born March 30, 1927, in Hopkins Park, the son of Rollie and Bernice Dick Parrish. Lester married Norma Block on June 26, 1948, in Momence.
Surviving are his wife of 70 years, Norma Parrish, of Kankakee; one daughter and two sons-in-law, Susan and Bill Phelps, of Momence, and Brian Middaugh, of Minneapolis, Minn.; one sister, Marjorie Smith, of Bourbonnais; one sister-in-law, Lois Parrish, of Clifton; three grandchildren, Virginia Phelps, Robert Phelps and Brian Middaugh Jr.; and six great-grandchildren, Kody Lawrence, Kolten and Kayden Villareal, Jax and Jolee Phelps and Brielle Middaugh.
Preceding him in death were his daughter, Linda Middaugh; his parents; one sister, Inez Dugan; and six brothers, Lloyd, Lawrence, Bernard, Duane, Jack and Emil Parrish.
Lester had retired from Mobil Chemical and Valspar after 42 years. He also owned Parrish Antiques in Momence, for over 25 years.
He had been a member of the First United Methodist Church in Momence.
Lester enjoyed attending auctions and going antiquing. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 15, until the 12:30 p.m. funeral services at Cotter Funeral Home in Momence. Interment will be in Kankakee Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Aroma Township.
