Tewksbury Police Seek Missing Woman
TEWKSBURY -- Police are asking for help in the search for a missing 24-year-old woman, last seen by Tewksbury State Hospital staff members at 3 p.m. Tuesday.
Emily Medina, who resides at the hospital, is hearing impaired, non-verbal, and communicates through the use of a tablet, according to a press release issued by the Tewksbury Police Department.
Tewksbury police posted a tweet shortly after 10 p.m. Tuesday stating they believe Medina may be located in the New Bedford area due to information that surfaced. According to police, Medina has family located in the New Bedford area.
She was last seen wearing a green jacket with a fur hood, black leggings and sneakers.
Tewksbury carried out an extensive search of the area with the assistance of the North Eastern Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council’s K-9 Unit and all available Tewksbury officers, the press release stated.
Continuous attempts to locate her through her cell phone have failed, as the phone is turned off.
