Boys basketball: Bralyn Sanchez named player of the week

Bralyn Sanchez, Sam Houston: senior, guard — Banked in a 3-pointer from halfcourt as time expired as the Hurricanes clipped Dripping Springs 45-43 in a Class 5A second-round encounter. He finished with 15 points, scoring the game’s first and final baskets, both 3-pointers. He scored 23 in an 84-61 win vs. Medina Valley in bidistrict.

Game balls

Boerne’s Rashawn Galloway made a game-winner 3-pointer as the Greyhounds rallied to nip Richmond Fulshear 62-61 in Class 4A second-round game.

Antonian’s Juan Reyes totaled 50 points as the Apaches topped Houston St. Thomas and Katy St. John XXIII to advance to the TAPPS 6A state tournament.

O’Connor’s Brendan Wenzel averaged 24.5 points, made eight 3-pointers and shot 53 percen as Panthers defeated Reagan 75-57 in bidistrict and lost to state-ranked AUstin Westlake 56-55 in the second round.
