Intoxicated woman on ferry charged with assault
PORT ORCHARD, Wash. (AP) — Bremerton police say an intoxicated 19-year-old woman started a fight on the ferry and was charged with a felony for assaulting an officer.
The Kitsap Sun reports that a man aboard the boat said while underway, the woman sat on his girlfriend and when he tried to get her to leave the couple alone the woman started hitting him.
Ferry employees tried to stop the fight and the man walked to the back of the boat.
At about 1:50 a.m., as the officer waited at the dock, he heard screaming from the incoming ferry. When he boarded, he found ferry employees trying to hold the woman, who was seen yelling and pushing employees.
When the officer tried to get control of the woman, she shoved and hit him.
She was charged in Kitsap County Superior Court.
