Male Struck by Vehicle in Westford
WESTFORD -- With a damaged bicycle lying along the side of Plain Road on Tuesday night, Westford police scanned the road with flashlights.
Police were called to the area after a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle near 125 Plain Road shortly before 9 p.m., according to emergency radio broadcasts.
The male who was struck was transported by ambulance to Lowell General Hospital. A MedFlight helicopter was called to the hospital to provide further transport, according to radio broadcasts.
Police on scene initially taped off a few dozen yards of Plain Road to investigate the scene before expanding the area that was taped-off. An officer on scene said the scene expansion was due to the “debris field” being larger than initially thought.
The cause of the crash, along with the victim’s identity and condition were not immediately available.
