Solar Vote Coming Up in Lunenburg
LUNENBURG -- The Planning Board is expected to vote at its next meeting whether to grant special permits for Settlers Solar LLC and 994 Northfield Road LLC to build a solar array in town.
That decision came Monday after two public hearings and an order by a Land Court judge for the board to reconsider the permits that were the subject of two lawsuits the town and solar corporations lodged against each other in December.
At its meeting, the Planning Board voted for town counsel to draft a decision laying out updated plans and conditions negotiated with the developers.
The developers have proposed changes that include adding more of a buffer area between the project and abutters and increasing a tree fund to maintain the buffer.
Members will approve or deny the permits at their next meeting on Sept. 24.
