Sink hole appears in downtown Danbury
DANBURY - Authorities have closed Franklin Street in the city’s downtown after a large sink hole appeared on the roadway Wednesday.
Police closed off the road from Main Street to Farview Avenue after a sink hole appeared near the Main Street intersection. The sink hole quickly filled with water and measures about three feet wide.
Crews with the city’s public works department were en route to evaluate the sink hole and what may have caused it.
