CULVER CITY, Calif. (AP) _ For some of the overlooked stars of ``The Wizard of Oz,'' there's still no place like Oz.

Six of the little people who starred as Munchkins in the movie classic journeyed back to the hotel where they stayed when they marched down the Yellow Brick Road nearly 60 years ago.

Culver City officials proclaimed Thursday through Saturday ``Munchkin Rendezvous Weekend.'' The Munchkins gathered Thursday night at the Culver Hotel in memory of their arrival in Hollywood for filming in 1938.

They were greeted by about 100 fans awaiting $5 autographed pictures and an opportunity to chat with the stars remembered for dancing alongside Judy Garland singing ``Ding Dong the Witch is Dead.''

Only 14 of 124 Munchkins survive.
