Honor Flight hosts Dice Run

May 18, 2019

HUNTINGTON — A Dice Run will take place Saturday, May 18, for the Honor Flight Huntington. This event is hosted by Brothers in Blue. A motorcycle ride starting and ending at HIMG, the cost is $25 per rider and $35 per couple.

Registration begins at 10 a.m. and kickstands go up at noon. Other fundraising events scheduled for the day are a Basket Raffle, Quilt Raffle and 50/50. One hundred percent of the proceeds go to Honor Flight Huntington, a nonprofit that was formed in 2005 with the sole mission of transporting America’s veterans to Washington, D.C., free of charge, to see the memorials that were built in their honor. Since 2005, over 160,000 veterans have gotten this opportunity.

Honor Flight Huntington was formed in 2013. Covering the Tri-State area, we have thus far taken almost 1,000 veterans to Washington, D.C., to see their memorials that honors their service to our country. The

program is open to any WWII, Korean or Vietnam veteran who served in any capacity in any area during the official dates of each conflict. Priority is given to WWII veterans and terminally ill veterans from any conflict. Each veteran has a “guardian” that stays with them the entire day. All guardians are volunteers and pay their own way. The next flight is tentatively scheduled for fall 2019, depending on donations and fundraising events.
