Arizona State women beat Arizona 75-50
TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) — Robbi Ryan had a career-high 24 points and Arizona State used a strong third quarter to power past Arizona 75-50 on Friday night.
The Sun Devils (18-9, 9-6 Pac-12) outscored the Wildcats 25-5, including 17 straight points, in the third quarter. Arizona trailed only 27-23 at the break and made the first bucket of the second half, but missed its remaining eight shots in the third quarter while Arizona State pulled away.
Ryan was 8 of 12 from the field with a pair of triples, made all six of her foul shots and had five boards. Courtney Ekmark added 17 points, Jamie Ruden scored 12 and Kianna Ibis 10.
Arizona State outscored Arizona 32-10 in points off turnovers and snapped a two-game skid with the win.
JaLea Bennett had 16 points and Kat Wright added 13 for the Wildcats (6-20, 2-13), who lost their third straight.
