HUNTINGTON — Marshall University continued to celebrate Black History Month on Saturday evening with its second Ebony Ball, a formal dance event.

The ball was sponsored by the university’s Center for African American Students, Black United Students and Student Affairs. The best-dressed attendees were crowned.

Black History Month celebrations will continue as the university welcomes Columbus, Ohio-based author and poet Hanif Abdurraqib to its A.E. Stringer Visiting Writers Series at 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 25, in the Memorial Student Center’s Don Morris Room. Abdurraqib will read his work, participate in a Q&A and sign books.
