Doherty Delivers for BHS

BURLINGTON -- Jake Doherty had a night to remember for the Burlington High School football team on Friday night.

Doherty was a one-man scoring machine as he erupted for four rushing touchdowns to propel Burlington to a 42-14 victory over Wakefield. He scored on runs of 1 yard, 79 yards, 24 yards and 27 yards.

The Red Devils, who jumped out to a 14-0 lead after the first quarter, improved to 4-1.

Quarterback Khyle Pena chipped in with two touchdown passes for Burlington. He tossed an 11-yarder to Shawn Pinkham and a 67-yarder to Jake McCauley.
