Metro Diner to open in January, will hire over 100 Aiken workers
Metro Diner, a restaurant chain with locations in over a dozen states, will open its Aiken location in January.
Metro Diner will open on Whiskey Road and will hire around 100 local workers, according to a press release. It will be the first Metro Diner in South Carolina.
No official opening date has been announced, but a press release states Metro Diner will be in business by mid-January.
The restaurant, which will be located at 1944 Whiskey Road, will be hiring for all positions, including servers, chefs, cooks and kitchen staff.
The restaurant specializes in “serious diner food,” according to Metro Diner’s website. This includes comfort food classics like shrimp and grits, fried chicken and waffles, and macaroni and cheese. It is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
A second South Carolina location is slated to open in Charleston, according to Metro Diner’s website.
Metro Diner has been featured in a variety of magazines and cooking television shows, including The Food Network’s “Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives.”
