Steve Williams Named best WV mayor in WV Living polls
CHARLESTON — WV Living has recognized Huntington mayor Steve Williams in the magazine’s annual “Best of West Virginia” list.
For the third time, readers chose Williams as “Best Mayor.” But this year, Williams shares the honor in a three-way tie with Beverly Keadle of Romney and Glenn Elliott of Wheeling.
In addition to statewide categories, the 2018 list also includes regional winners. For the Metro Valley region, Huntington fire chief Jan Rader was named “best community champion,” Heritage Farm Museum & Village was named “best place to stay,” 21 Club at the Frederick was named “best fine dining, and Hillbilly Hot Dogs in Lesage was named “casual dining restaurant.”
The complete list will be published in WV Living’s winter 2018 issue, which is also the magazine’s 10th anniversary issue.
“I love that our 10th anniversary issue contains our annual Best of West Virginia winners, because WV Living is all about showcasing the people and the places that make our state unique,” founder and publisher Nikki Bowman said. “It’s more than just a magazine—we’re a community builder. We tell the story of who we are, and who we are becoming.”
This is the magazine’s sixth-annual “Best of West Virginia” list. Each year, WV Living asks its readers to nominate their favorite restaurants, shops, towns, destinations, people, and more. Those nominations—which numbered in the thousands for 2018—are tallied to determine each year’s list.
