EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) _ The closing on the sale of the New Jersey Devils to an affiliate of YankeeNets was postponed from Wednesday until the end of July.

Last month, the NHL approved the $175 million sale of the Devils from John McMullen to Puck Holdings LLC, an affiliate of YankeeNets, whose principal owners are George Steinbrenner, Lewis Katz and Ray Chambers.

The company also owns baseball's New York Yankees and the New Jersey Nets of the NBA.

YankeeNets gave no explanation for the postponement but said the change is in ``full accordance with the original agreement.''
