Missing 14-year-old boy with autism found safe in Raleigh

Authorities said a 14-year-old boy who went missing Thursday afternoon in Raleigh has been found safe.

Raleigh police said Jacob Martin Thrasher was last seen at about 4:30 p.m. in the 1600 block of Eva Mae Drive, walking toward Heritage Manor Drive.

Thrasher was found safe on New Hope Road near Old Poole Road at about 8:30 p.m. and returned home.

“The safety and well-being of our residents is our primary concern. We are so thankful to the RPD for its superb work tonight and are pleased that our resident was found safe,” a spokesperson for Yelberton’s Enrichment Services, Inc., a group home Thrasher belongs to, said in a statement.

Raleigh police said a 911 call from a person who recognized Thrasher led authorities to him.
