LONDON (AP) _ Movie producer Steve Bing has agreed to pay 100,000 pounds a year, or $158,000, to support the son he fathered with actress Elizabeth Hurley, according to a statement released on his behalf Tuesday.
The statement said Bing was making the ``generous provision″ _ a total of 1.8 million pounds, or $2.8 million _ to support Damian Charles Hurley until the child is 18.
The financial plan was agreed to in a court order issued by London’s High Court Tuesday.
``Mr. Bing is delighted that the matter has been concluded and that he is able to honor his pledge to make generous provision for his son,″ the statement said.
When Hurley announced she was pregnant in November 2001, she said Bing was the father. Bing questioned his involvement, saying he was not in an ``exclusive″ relationship with her, but DNA tests showed that Damian, born April 4, is his son.
A former writer for the sitcom ``Married ... With Children″ and producer of films including the 2000 remake of ``Get Carter,″ Bing is believed to be the heir to a $400 million property fortune.
Hurley, the 37-year-old former model and longtime girlfriend of actor Hugh Grant, has appeared in films including ``Bedazzled″ and ``Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery.″
