Yellow Jackets win first game of season

ALLENDALE -- The Allendale Yellow Jackets baseball team won their first game of the season, 22-7 in four innings over WEAA Conference foe Grayville on Monday, Aug. 20 in Allendale.

To begin the game the Yellow Jackets seized a 3-1 lead at the end of the first inning courtesy of an RBI by Brendan Bowser and a single that knocked in two runs off the bat of Wyatt Gher.

They kept the pressure on in the second and third innings, scoring a combined 17 runs to take a commanding 20-4 lead at the end of the third inning and effectively putting the game away.

Allendale improves to 1-2 on the season. Their next game will be at West Salem on Thursday, Aug. 23 at 4:30 p.m.
