Outdoors day for women planned at Platte River State Park

LOUISVILLE, Neb. (AP) — The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission has scheduled at outdoors day for women at a park along the Platte River.

It’s a Beyond Becoming an Outdoors-Woman program event and is scheduled to run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on April 27 at Platte River State Park. Participants ages 18 and older will spend time at the range shooting rifles, shotguns and bows, hiking the park’s trails and exploring Crawdad Creek.

The park sits on the south bank of the Platte River — southeast of Ashland and west of Louisville — and can be reached by taking Exit 426 south off Interstate 80 and following Nebraska Highway 66 as it courses east.

Registration and a $30 fee are due April 22. A park entry permit is required for all vehicles.
