New Zealand wins toss, bats in 2nd ODI vs Sri Lanka

January 5, 2019

MOUNT MAUNGANUI, New Zealand (AP) — New Zealand won the toss and batted Saturday in the second one-day cricket international against Sri Lanka at Bay Oval.

The match is being played on the same pitch as the first match of the series on Thursday in which 700 runs were scored. New Zealand won that match by 45 runs to take a 1-0 lead in the three-match series.

Sri Lanka named an unchanged lineup while New Zealand made one change, naming seamer Tim Southee in place of Lockie Ferguson because of Ferguson’s recent heavy workload.
