LAS VEGAS — A lake wind advisory and Red Flag warning issued for Veterans Day has been extended until 6 p.m. PST on Monday, Nov. 12.

Impacted is the Colorado River Valley from Lake Havasu through the Lake Mead National Recreation Area. The National Weather Service expects winds near 30 mph, gusts to 40 mph, strongest around Bullhead City. Winds are predicted to decrease after sunset, increase quickly Monday morning then decrease after sunset Monday.

A lake wind advisory warns of hazardous boating conditions on area lakes with small boats prone to capsizing.

A Red Flag warning is issued when strong winds combined with low relative humidity and critically dry vegetation raise the specter of fire danger.
