DPS officers injured in gun malfunction at shooting range

PHOENIX (AP) — Authorities say two Arizona Department of Public Safety officers suffered minor injuries from shrapnel when a weapon malfunctioned at a shooting range.

A Phoenix Fire Department spokesman says the officers were transported to a hospital for evaluation.

The incident occurred Monday night at the Ben Avery Shooting Facility near Carefree Highway and Interstate 17.
