New administrator named for Nebraska probation
Deb Minardi has been appointed as Nebraska’s new state probation administrator, according to a news release from the Nebraska Supreme Court.
Minardi has worked in probation for 39 years, most recently serving as deputy administrator under Ellen Brokofsky, who retired at the end of last year.
Minardi will direct the statewide delivery of all juvenile and adult probation services in the state.
As deputy administrator, she was responsible for statewide evidence-based programs and services, including alternatives to incarceration/adult intensive supervision probation, problem-solving courts, reporting centers, sex offender and domestic-violence management, behavioral health and nonclinical services.
She has been heavily involved in juvenile and adult justice reform and the expansion of problem-solving courts in Nebraska.
Minardi, who serves as vice president of the American Probation and Parole Association, also was integral in developing the nationally recognized, award-winning Specialized Substance Abuse Supervision program that serves as one of Nebraska probation’s flagship prison-alternative programs, according to the Supreme Court news release.
